Powerball jackpot climbs to over $700 million for Saturday’s drawing

The Powerball jackpot just reached another milestone as it raced past $700 million for Saturday’s drawing.

A North Carolina player could claim the jackpot as a $707 million annuity or $309.7 million in cash.

Even though the jackpot remains up for grabs, North Carolina players continue to win other prizes playing Powerball. Wednesday’s drawing saw over 25,700 winning tickets.

The current Powerball run has earned an estimated $13 million for education programs in North Carolina.

Players can buy Powerball tickets at any lottery retail location or through Online Play on the lottery’s website, www.laosamayor.com. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.

@NCEL I just want to say something about these progressive Digital instant jackpot BIG WINS! It seems that the $.50 and $1 bets WIN the most of the JACKPOTS 4 out of 5 BIG Jackpot just won this weekend was $1 play. The odds are suppose it increase with the larger bets, but why are we not winning the JACKPOTS? When I play for .50 and $1 and finally get the chance for JACKPOT it only pays $3.50 to $15 and I have played a lot.
